Cookie Policy
Last updated: 25 July 2026
This site is built to run without tracking. We do not use analytics, advertising, or social media cookies.
There is one case where a third party may set cookies: the location map on our Contact page — and only if you choose to allow it.
What cookies are
Cookies are small text files placed on your device by websites you visit. Similar technologies include localStorage and sessionStorage, which store data in your browser without sending it to a server. We explain all of these here for transparency.
Our approach
We have deliberately built this website without analytics, advertising, or social media cookies. The only third-party service that may set cookies is Google Maps on the Contact page, and it is consent-gated — it does not load until you explicitly allow it.
First-party cookies
We set no first-party cookies. Zero. None are placed on your device by our domain.
Browser storage
Instead of cookies, we use browser storage for three functional items and one consent record. These never leave your browser and are not transmitted to any server:
- cis-lang (localStorage) — stores your language preference ("en" or "ar"). Persists until you clear your browser data.
- cis-currency (localStorage) — stores your preferred display currency (e.g. "QAR", "GBP"). Used to show approximate prices in your chosen currency. Persists until you clear your browser data.
- cis-veil-shown (sessionStorage) — records that the introductory animation has played, so it is not repeated during your session. Cleared when you close the tab.
- cis-map-consent (localStorage) — records your Google Maps consent choice ("allowed" or "denied"). Persists until you clear your browser data or change your preference.
Google Maps
Our Contact page can display an embedded Google Maps map showing our location. The map does not load automatically. When you visit the Contact page, you see a notice explaining that loading the map will share your IP address with Google and may result in Google setting cookies. You can choose “Allow map” to load it, or “Keep it off” to decline.
Your choice is stored in cis-map-consent (see above). You can change your preference at any time by revisiting the Contact page. When the map does load, Google may set its own cookies and receive your IP address under Google’s privacy terms. Our Contact page always shows our full address and a direct link to open the location in Google Maps, so you can get directions without loading the embed.
Cookie categories
For clarity, here is how our use maps to standard cookie categories:
- Strictly necessary: none.
- Functional: cis-lang, cis-currency, and cis-veil-shown (browser storage, not cookies).
- Analytics: none.
- Advertising: none.
- Third-party optional: Google Maps cookies (set only if you choose to allow the map embed).
How to control cookies
On-site: use the consent control on the Contact page to allow or decline the Google Maps embed. In your browser: you can clear localStorage and sessionStorage via your browser’s developer tools or settings; you can also block third-party cookies entirely in your browser preferences. The only consequence of refusing all optional storage is that the Google Maps embed will not load — you can still reach us by phone, email, or WhatsApp.
Changes
If we add any new cookies or storage items, we will update this policy and, where required, ask for your consent before they are set.
